PC World Denmark: "Black and Sexy"
 Shuttle has made a smart PC that looks superb in the living room as well as in the office," ensure the editors of the Danish IT website PC World having had a closer look at the Shuttle XPC mini X 100. The mini PC which is "small, black and sexy" was a "little bit more designed for the living room, but surely makes for a fast and good system on the desk as well."
"Today we see mini PCs in many different designs and variations, but one thing they have in common is they use the best of notebook components," know the editors of the Danish online IT publication PC World.
And this how the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 works – being based on Intel's 1.6 GHz Core Duo T2050 "which is respectable" the X 100 also features half a Gigabyte of memory and the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics engine. However, this Shuttle mini PC boasts a standard 3.5 inch hard disk and a slot-in dual layer DVD writer as well.
The Shuttle XPC mini X 100 basically has a "smart design," according to PC World, with a card reader "discreetly hidden" beneath the power button.
Moreover, the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 is powered up with an external PSU. Having it moved to the outside makes the PC "very silent" and this small PC can either lay flat on its belly or "can stand on its side," the editors state. "All that is pretty smart," they add.
To complete, if "you want a PC which is hardly upgradable, but replaces a notebook, the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 is definitely worth consideration. It is super compact, very low noise and nicely designed." |
