The German magazine PC Games Hardware published a market overview of mini-PCs. Five cube-shaped PCs of well-known manufacturers were put to the test in this round-up...
Taking part were the Shuttle XPC System Solution P 8100G and the eventual winner, the "Magic Cube" from "PC Spezialist" based on the Shuttle XPC barebone SB77G5. Shuttle really outdid itself, with the Shuttle XPC System Solution P 8100G doing better than the winning model by the same manufacturer in the category of "Features."
The Shuttle XPC System Solution P 8100G impressed with an ATI X800XT video card and "good gaming performance". In benchmark scores for "Doom 3 1.0.1282 (Demo1)" and "Far Cry (dt.) 1.3 outdoor level," the Shuttle machine reached the highest ratings of 73 and 67 Fps at a resolution of 1024x768 and beat its competitors. The "space saving wonder" also shone thanks to its functionality, with a drive cage that "can be removed in seconds". Total rating: 2,23.
As for the Magic Cube, it also showed off thanks to its "very silent" operation under Windows. "Gaming performance of 36 Fps at 1024x768 in Doom 3 is good". The same verdict in "Far Cry" with 57 Fps at the same resolution. The editors were pleased when it came to power consumption under Windows and 3D Games. "Despite the good gaming performance it remained very low."
As a bonus the Cinergy TV-card is included. Finally the "Allrounder with good configuration" is given a performance rating of 1,98 and a total rating of 2,03, before being awarded the "Top-Product" Award from PC Games Hardware. |
