PCM: "Five out of five"

PCM: "A winner" had the editors of the Dutch computer magazine in their labs. A combination of "high performance, good stability and low-noise level" characterizes the small form factor PC which managed the breath-taking result of a full score - five out of five stars. What else could the editors be talking about than Shuttle's powerhouse XPC Barebone SD39P2?

The editors are sure: "If it's about small form factor barebones, Shuttle still is the master." What makes them say so? A quick look at the company's latest high-end barebones PC – Shuttle XPC Barebone SD39P2 which already impressed the editors by with its spec sheet. "The list of specifications is really impressive, as well as the unit's black looks." A glance under the hood reveals its huge performance potential: "any Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme processors available at the time of writing are supported," explain the editors. Being designed for even professional gaming, the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD39P2 comes equipped with Intel's 975X chipset which "is good for higher FSB settings" also enabling it to take up to 8GBs of RAM.

Conclusion: "With the SD39P2 has Shuttle one of the most mature barebones PCs in their hands. The combination of high performance, good stability and low noise level make the SD39P2 a winner in our opinion."

"On top of the drives cage, there's room for two hard disks," the editors of PCM describe. Being ready for high-end components arises the issue of heat dissipation. Even this challenge the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD39P2 with its "fast fans" and the "well-tried" heatpipe cooling system. Having five spinning fans on board, "it is fascinating enough, the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD39P2 is one of the most silent barebones from Shuttle so far," praise the editors the low-noise level. In terms of layout "there was not much Shuttle need to improve on," according to PCM. "Installation of hardware went in no time," they add about the easy and fast setup. The build quality was convincing, too. "It feels exceptionally solid and robust," they say. Performance-wise, the SD39P2 demonstrates its strength and leaves almost nothing to ask for. "The SD39P2 ran solid as a rock and we had no driver issues neither under XP nor Vista.

In other words, the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD39P2 completely lives up to what it promises: "Outstanding performance," stability and silence.
