Hardwareluxx: "Roomy despite being small"
The German IT magazine Hardwareluxx recently tested the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2. The editors had a closer look at the newest chipsets for Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Shuttle's innovation joined the test featuring Intel's i975X chipset.
Having had a first look at the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2, the editors noticed the "stylish P2 chassis design" providing a number of useful features. Hidden behind drive doors, an optical drive, a 3.5 inch bay for a floppy drive or a card reader can be accessed in the front. Additionally, 2x USB 2.0 connectors, FireWire, headphones and mic-in are available.
Taking a look at the back panel reveals more USB connectors, such as audio jacks, an external SATA connector and an Ethernet-NIC. The integrated cooling system "worked silently." "Just like we have expected it," write the editors of Hardwareluxx about the low noise level.
"Assembly could be done quickly," state the editors. Thanks to the advanced layout and prerouted cables, setting up the unit "went without a hitch and didn't take us long."
Conclusion:
"Roomy despite being small. The case of this Shuttle XPC Barebone can take two hard disks, an optical drive and a card reader or floppy drive."
