Bit-Tech.net: "Rockin'!"

The British hardware website Bit-Tech.net recently tested the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2, the first barebone for AMD's new socket AM2. Being equipped with high end technology the editors had just one word for it: "Rockin'!"

Right at first sight the editors noticed that Shuttle adapted "the brushed aluminium look from the incredibly sexy G5 chassis" to the new P2 chassis and parised: "The shiny black brushed aliminium Styling looks sexy."

The two most striking improvements of the P2 chassis could not be hidden away from the editors. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 is the first barebone from Shuttle that can take up to eight Gigabytes of RAM. Furthermore, the P2 chassis boasts a 400W power supply that is "more than enough power for the form factor" enabling the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 to manage even the most powerful components – such as current Dual Core CPUs, high end graphics cards and large hard disks.

This is why it is ideal for perfomance hungry tasks and of course, games: "In Quake 4 the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 is actually faster than all the other AM2 boards!"

Especially for regular LAN-parties visits the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 is a good bet. While others carry huge and heavy towers, the SFF PC from Shuttle is easy to transport and features "masses of memory potential, hard disk space potential, graphics powerhouse potential, and a kick ass looking case" needing just a minimum of space.

Conclusion:

"The Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 is a wholly integrated and clever barebones system that performs as well as a full ATX system, but only takes a fraction of the space. With support for AMD's socket AM2 processors, the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN27P2 is a pretty sweet barebones unit if you're not looking to overclock. Rockin'!"
