PC INpact: "We recommend the Shuttle XPC P 2500G"
The French IT-Website PCINpact recently tested the Shuttle XPC P 2500G. They previously had a look at the barebone which the P 2500G is based on: "The Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P is efficient speaking about the very silent cooling system or the user-friendly assembly." And they added: "With its high functionality, the SN25P is able to battle big desktop solutions. Thanks to its three 3.5 inch drive bays with RAID function, you will also benefit from the four USB 2.0 ports on the rear, plus two more USB connectors on the front panel, having not mentioned the Gigabit LAN and the 7.1 sound system," explain the editors.
But this time, they had the Shuttle XPC P 2500G, a fully configured system with an Athlon 64 FX-60 CPU, an ATI Radeon X1900XTX graphics card with 512MB and two Gigabytes of RAM in their labs. "Hard to find a better SFF PC at this time, one of the fastest SFF PCs on the market," praise the IT experts of PC INpact.
Being about to have a closer look at the barebone's mainboard performances the editors of PC INpact decided to "compare it to a desktop motherboard with the same chipset, of course." There is no doubt, all benchmark tests ended up with "very similar or identical results." The Shuttle XPC P 2500G does not need to fear its bigger "gaming giant" counterparts.
In terms of noise level, the Shuttle XPC P 2500G comes with some "very silent" noise control system. Since any of Shuttle’s XPCs are self-configurable online at the European Shuttle website, the editors also tried out the Shuttle Systems Configurator. "Given the Shuttle XPC P 2500G, you can choose from seven processors and also seven graphics cards for example. There are currently 14 complete Shuttle XPCs available tackling Home, Gaming, Media Center and Business users. Of course, all of them are configurable."
Moreover, the editors of PC INpact became aware of the warranty service Shuttle offers for their fully-configured Shuttle XPCs. The free of charge "Pick-Up-and-Return-Service is valid for 24 months." A free hotline is available to solve smaller problems as a first step. In case of a defective unit, your product will be picked up at your place, repaired, fixed and returned to you afterwards with UPS.
In conclusion the editors of PCINpact "recommend the Shuttle XPC P 2005G" and it is especially suitable "for extreme LAN-party goers seeking for a stable and powerful rig," sum up the editors also ensuring: "With a combination of an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 processor and a Radeon X1900XTX graphics card you won’t have problems to run even latest demanding games at highest resolution on this machine."
