PC Pro: "Recommended Product"

Having introduced a brand new small form factor to their product line of Shuttle XPCs, the British computer magazine PC Pro already had a closer look at the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA and happily concluded: "Small, quiet and surprisingly aggressive on price, Shuttle has built a very useful PC."

Don’t let the layout mislead you, "it may be just 53mm high, but there’s a fully functioning PC packed inside," know the editors of the British computer magazine PC Pro.

After having unwrapped the package and having had a glance at the unit, the editors were sure that this unit is "as impressive out of the box as it was when we first saw it." Impressive – not only in terms of design that helps "you forget that this is a PC," but the "X 100 even has some gaming potential," explain its testers.

Thanks to an external, fanless model of power supply, the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA sits "nearsilent, even under intensive strain" next to you on your desk or it can also be placed on its side on your bookshelf. All the editors heard was a "low-level hum" giving proof to its low noise operation.

With a Core Duo processor with 1.6GHz and the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics engine working inside the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA "our benchmarks were still respectable," praise the editors of PC Pro.

Featurewise, the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA includes a dual layer DVD-writer, integrated W-LAN, a number of USB connectors, DVI and S-Video. Three 3.5mm audio jacks, SPDIF and a 4-in-1 card reader in the front complete the "great piece of design."

Conclusion:

"But, as a tiny and well-engineered PC, the 100HA is good value, and if space is at a premium, or you’re looking to add a secondary PC to your home, this little wonder could be a very practical purchase."
