PC Magazin: "No need to compromise"
"After having chosen the right barebone, the ideal living room PC is quickly assembled," explain the editors of the German computer magazine PC Magazin happily. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD11G5 paid a visit to their labs and justified this statement with excellent test results.
Shuttle, as the pioneer of the popular cube shaped SFF PCs, joined the round up with the Pentium M based Shuttle XPC Barebone SD11G5.
"As the biggest of our three test units the XPC is the best one for upgrading," stated the editors. Thanks to its 6 pin power connector even "most modern graphics cards can be fitted in." A PCI-Express slot and a mini PCI slot are available for such needs.
Featuring the Intel 915GM chipset, the barebone "is ready for Pentium M and Celeron M processors." On the upside, these processors are especially "easy to cool," know the testers.
Thanks to the type of processors supported and its onboard graphics, this SFF PC also convinced the testers with its low noise level. It barely reached 30dBA during the tests. A pleasant value you won't find annoying when the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD11G5 sits on your desk according to the editors of PC Magazin.
Conclusion:
"With the right barebone even beginners can rig up a small, beautiful PC without a hitch."
