2005-09-08 - PC Professionell: "Powerful Lifestyle-Minis"
Do you remember who won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967? The Mini Cooper – a small car with a powerful engine. Small, attractive and packed with power – just like the Shuttle XPCs that won sort of a rally as well. The trophy to race for was the "Editor's Choice" awarded by the editors of the German hardware magazine PC Professionell. The Mini Cooper won three times in four years, the Shuttle XPCs were placed on three of the first four ranks having the test winner among them: the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P.

„Who has invented it?“ asked the editors of the German hardware magazine PC Professionell referring to the „Powerful Lifestyle Minis.“ The answer was quite obvious: „It was Shuttle! In 2001 the manufacturer announced with the SV24 the first cube-shaped SFF PC.“ Today Shuttle is the market leader in the SFF PC segment and offers the widest product range that is also relected in the round up of PC Professionell. Three out of eight PCs tested came from Shuttle. These PCs came first, second and forth. In terms of „service“ and „equipment“ the three Shuttle XPCs make up the first three ranks.
Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P
The Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P is the clear winner of this round up, as it managed to get 88.7 per cent out of all points. The combination of performance and low noise were the aspects the editors fell in love with: „We especially liked its low noise, along with good configuration and performance.“
Conclusion:
Our test winner the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN25P with Nvidia nForce-4-Ultra chipset is the perfect basis for a powerful SFF PC. It supports the Athlon 64 X2 with two dual processor cores and offers enough room for fast graphics cards. The advanced 350W power supply of the well-equipped cube even feeds the most power hungry components.
