Windows XP - The Official Magazine: "This really is one of the most usable, compact systems we've come across"

"Running out of space?" That's what the editors of the British computer magazine Windows XP - The Official Magazine are about to answer. Shuttle seem to have put an end to this issue introducing the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 which "could be the answer," if space on the desk is an object. To find out if it is, just read on.

"This PC is about the size of a stack of A4 paper," describe the British computer magazine Windows XP – The Official Magazine the dimensions of the Shuttle XPC mini X 100.
"And it's virtually silent," they add. Small size and low noise level - two requirements PCs should meet in order to be suitable to sit in the living room.

The "well-designed" Shuttle XPC mini X 100 is a PC for everyday computing in the home or office environment. Apart from its "very clever chassis," the X 100 has an Intel Core Duo processor, 512MB of memory and the ATI Radeon X 1400 GPU working inside. Using the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 which can "even be placed horizontally," the consumer is also provided with a "decent range of connectivity options" such as wireless networking, five USB 2.0 ports, FireWire, S-Video-out and Gigabit-LAN.

Conclusion: "It's difficult to fault the design and components, even if this Shuttle PC is a tad on the pricey side."

Though not being designed for gaming, this smallest Shuttle XPC ever is "capable of playing games." Especially impressive was the built-in 200GB standard hard disk which is "extremely good for a PC composed of notebook kit," write the editors.
"With many Shuttle PCs, the components are very good," state Windows XP – The Official Magazine. This also includes the slot-loading DVD drive.

To put it in a nutshell, the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 does what it was designed for when the editors say: "It's small, quiet, doesn't get too hot and will handle the vast majority of computing tasks with ease."
