The summary by the editors of the US-based of Anandtech is very positive after their first look at the Shuttle XPC System M1000 – the perfect HTPC solution. The editors are convinced: "Shuttle's XPC M1000 is a system that looks to combine all of the technologies that have been developing over the past several years and finally make the PC a part of your entertainment center."

"The outward appearance of the M1000 is definitely one of the highlights of this system. It's sleek and attractive, and it will easily fit in with a variety of home theater setups." Editors are just as keen on the stylish design: "It has a highly reflective glossy black finish on the top and sides, and our camera and "studio" don't really do it justice."

But it's not just a pleasure to look upon the Shuttle XPC System M1000. It's very quiet too: "The Pentium M processor has a very low heat output, making it a far better fit than something like a Pentium D." By choosing the Pentium M for – the "powerhouse of multimedia" –Media Center solutions are bound to get more popular: "Noise levels and temperatures certainly favor the M1000."
