 The Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M was one of the Media Center PCs in a SFF PC round up of the German IT-magazine CHIP Test&Kauf. "It really turns on the power," write the editors, giving it the maximum rating of 100 percent for performance. It even managed to top the test winner, the "PC World Whisperpower Minimaxi SN95G5," based on the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN95G5 in its category.
On the whole, eight fully-configured SFF PCs were included in the group test of CHIP Test&Kauf. Thanks to its "powerful components" the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M was ahead of the pack in terms of performance. But praising its performance was not all that led the editors to call the Shuttle their their "Pro's recommendation." Systems like the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M that intend to find their place in the living room as a multimedia machine have to be easy on the eyes as well. Featuring a "stylish case," the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M encountered no difficulties. With its mirrored front panel it definitely "looks nice" and the integrated VFD display that provides status information while in operation is a pleasing additional feature as well. Topping things off
is the configuration that makes the Shuttle XPC System right for the living room: "high-quality sound, 16x dual-layer DVD-writer, 200 GB hard disk and Gigabit-LAN", the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M shined with excellent equipment that "every lover of a living room PC would be happy with."
