2004-12-01 - WCM: "Editor's Choice Award"

2004-12-01 - WCM:

"The main advantage you get from the 875P is its support for DDR400 memory, which makes it as fast as the new i915 chipset with expensive DDR2 memory," according to the editors of WCM magazine Austria. "It's the latest XPC barebone from Shuttle now featuring exactly this chipset." You might be telling yourself that Shuttle already has such a model. That's right, but the SB77G5 has a decisive advantage. "It's not just the beauty of the new G5 design, but also the combination of i875P chipset and LGA775 CPU socket to support even the latest Prescott CPUs with highest clock rates." Part of a distinguished family of high-performance barebones, WCM nevertheless goes so far as to write: "The Shuttle XPC SB77G5 is in my eyes currently the best Shuttle barebone available." The XPC SB77G5 convinces "in optical aspects as well as in performance and stability." That made it possible for Shuttle to grab the second award in just one issue.

Pros:

+ excellent performance
+ DDR 400 memory available
