 
The new AMD Sempron processor is considered as a successor of the AMD Duron and a competitor to the Intel Celeron-D. Sempton is available for Socket A (Thoroughbred-B core) and Socket 754 (Paris core). Old BIOS versions will not detect Sempron properly, but despite this, the system will often start, but maybe at a lower FSB speed, and the BIOS displays the wrong processor name. The following Shuttle products and BIOS versions have been certified for the new Sempron processor:
