2005-02-11 - Barebonecenter.de - Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M with "AHA-Effect"

2005-02-11 - Barebonecenter.de - Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M with The staff of the German hardware site Barebonecenter.de were impressed by the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M. They were the first to test Shuttle’s complete Media Center system. Barely unpacked, the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M was already deemed to be “relatively spectacular with an almost perfect-mirror front and centered control elements.” They also lauded such features as the stamped name on the side as well as the front display: “A useful feature which underlines the usage of this device and provides real benefits in addition to the wow factor”. The staff were adamant: “this device can do more than write letters.”

Taking a look at the inside, they found: “almost affectionate cable management.” They also attested to its use in the living room: “Scrolling through the menus with the remote is even easier than with the mouse. The PC, TV card and remote build a faultless symbiosis that leaves no wish unfulfilled.”

Easy to see then why the staff spoke so highly of the Shuttle XPC System G5 8300M as an impressive multimedia system: ”The G5 8300M looks good and it’s fun to let yourself be entertained. The very good integration of Windows XP – Media Center Edition with its remote control plays a big part.”

Pro's:

  • looks great
  • very stable
  • Windows Media Center
  • full remote control
