Computer Shopper: "Best Buy Award"

Computer Shopper: Various kit PCs had the editors of the British computer magazine Computer Shopper in the labs for a round up of office, media and gaming PCs. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD32G2 joining the test field of gaming PCs won Computer Shopper's "Best Buy Award" for easy assembly, good looks and performance.

Conclusion: "If you want to build a small but fast PC with a dedicated graphics card for gaming, Shuttle's SD32G2 is the best choice. It looks good, is easy to build and is fast in both 2D and 3D applications. It's our Best Buy if you want to build a gaming system."

"It looks smart," the editors can tell from the chassis of the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD32G2, the second barebones PC from Shuttle to support Core 2 Duo. Once lifted the case, socket 775, 2x DDR2 533/667 slots, Intel 945G graphics, Gigabit-LAN and "plenty of room" to fit up to two hard disks come to light. The "clear and easy to follow instructions" make the set up a breeze.

Performance-wise the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD32G2 convinced the editors, as it is "fast in 2D and 3D applications," state Computer Shopper. The scores reached in 2D benchmarking "were impressive" and the overall score "was one of the best" and had "no problems in 2D benchmarks," according to the editors. When it came to value for money the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD32G2 managed to surpass its competitors once more, since it is "much cheaper and easier to put together."
