Hjemme PC: 5 out of 6 points
"The SD37P2 destroys the rumour that SFF PCs are bad and less upgradeable. We can recommend it to everyone who want a silent, small and well-performing computer," state the editors of the Norwegian IT magazine Hjemme PC.
With regard to the fact that the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 wasn’t designed for just office applications, the editors of the Norwegian IT magazine assured that Shuttle built "way more than required into the SD37P2."
Especially the high performance layout convinced the editors. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 has everything needed to become the fastest SFF PC ever. It features the current Intel 975X chipset, which supports all current Core2 Duo processors and even is ready for the next generation of quad-core processors. It also can take up to eight GBs of RAM and has two PCI-E slots available that can run two graphics cards in CrossFire mode.
All this comes together in the new P2 chassis design providing "a lot of room for graphics cards with large coolers," according to Hjemme PC.
Also, the assembly has become an even easier task thanks to the roomy case. It barely took the editors of Hjemme PC "only 10 minutes" which is a "fine improvement." Furthermore, the spacious interior provides a lot of room for upgrades "making this machine especially suitable for people who want to use three hard disks or large graphics cards."
As expected the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 manages the benchmarks test performed on it without a hitch and delivers enough performance "to be used as a most modern PC system."
Pros:
+ Easy to assemble + Powerful + Four RAM sockets + Good cooling |
