Barebonecenter.de: "The SD37P2 really is a masterpiece of high-end performance"
"Multimedia benchmarks were just awesome," praise the editors of Germany's biggest SFF PC community Barebonecenter.de. According to the editors the Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 with Intel Core2 Duo processor was five times faster than a Pentium D 820. Incredible! "We couldn't believe our software at the first time. So we repeated the benches at least eight times and double-checked with other tools," explained the editors. But it was true. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 is the new performance winner.
The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD37P2 "sets new standards for the Barebonecenter Performance Award." In terms multimedia benchmarking the SD37P2 took it all and made everything else standing small: "Compared to its Intel brother Pentium D 820 in an SD36G5M it delivers only 61 per cent of the performance the Conroe CPU offers. The single core variant AMD 64 AM2 3800+ is outclassed by 35 per cent and this processor (for socket 939) still was upper mid range just 6 months ago." Even the experienced editors of Barebonecenter were astonished and impressed by this extremely high performance: "Maximum score for processor and chipset, but we almost wondered who needs all this performance," continue the editors who already made plans to introduce a new award for the SD37P2: "No doubt, the SD37P2 deserves our "Performance Award," but actually we rather had to make up a new award for it, since all predecessors having received this recommendation earlier cannot be compared to this unit."
High end performance on the inside, but the editors also much liked what they found on the outside: "The P2 chassis design is well-built. This even applies to the test sample we had here. The mechanism of the drive doors worked very good and they are robust, too. Moreover, we had no problems to install and operate the DVD drive we used for our tests."
Given the top notch configuration with ATI Crossfire, Intel Core2 Duo processor and up to 8 GB of RAM that need to be feeded, the unit boasts the new 400W power supply.
