The Tech Report, a professional source of news and tests, took a closer look at the SB77G5. They were especially impressed with the "sleek, refined chassis and relatively inexpensive price tag giving it universal appeal."
Furthermore, the "LGA775 processor is a good fit for the SB77G5 […], especially because as Shuttle mentioned it is compatible with CPUs up to 3.8 GHz and need not fear the competition of newer chipsets." But this is not the top of the line at all because "the BIOS is perfect for cranks that like to crank up the performance a little through overclocking." Besides "it supports already available 8x AGP cards, dual-channel DDR 400 memory, and Serial-ATA with RAID (0,1)."

Conclusion: "Given the proven reliability of this hardware setup, the SB77G5 would make an excellent workstation, gaming rig or even mini file-server.[..] Pros should also consider the SB77G5 for home theater applications because of Pentium 4's generally excellent video-encoding performance".
