CDRinfo.com: "Full score in features"

"It's light, well built and has a very impressive facade with integrated VFD display on the front," announces the British hardware website CDRinfo having just reviewed the Shuttle XPC Barebone SG33G5M. The SFF PC which is dedicated to media centre fans especially convinced the editors in terms of features, performance and price as well.

Based on Intel’s Socket 775 this media center is "tailored towards specific uses and needs" of families, movie fans and people who are very much interested in listening to music. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SG33G5M which is meant to "aim at media center users" and multimedia fans, is dubbed to be a very "modern media center box."

Having put the machine together, the editors found out that there are "also several other features, like the built-in 7.1 HD audio chip with Dolby Digital Live! And DTS Connect certification and a Gigabit-LAN connector." Being ready for the forthcoming Intel 45nm Penryn processors, the SG33G5M is based on the G33 chipset with a HDMI output which enables picture and sound sent digitally over one cable. Most remarkably, it allows for playback of HD content "optimally" and is a "pretty good graphic solution," according to CDRinfo.com.

Taking a closer look at the internal musings, one PCI-E 16x and one PCI slot come to light and two DIMMs to accomodate up to 4GBs of memory. Three internal and two external SATA connectors are also available. Besides, this media centre is, of course easy to navigate. This because the package also includes a remote control which makes the computer "comfortable" to access right from the sofa.

On the whole, this media centre barebones PC managed to impress its reviewers with its features and the other following aspects:
