2005-08-24 - Hardwareluxx: "Very special solution for the Home-Theater-PC market discovered"

The editors of the German hardware magazine "Hardwareluxx" recently had a closer look at the Shuttle XPC Barebone SB83G5M - and they absolutely liked what they saw. According to the editors, Shuttle found a"very special solution" for the Home-Theater-PC market. Like all the other XPC Barebones from Shuttle, is one is also "well-built," features a "good looking and cleverly thought design." The Shuttle XPC Barebone SB83G5M not only impresses with the "extremely stylish and mirrored front panel," but as a "real highlight" it shows off with an integrated VFD-display.

Thanks to the delivered software, the display is "easy to control" providing its user with information about e.g. the playing song or movie, the name of the radio station making the editors say: "You'll know for sure what you lost, when you buy a new system after the Shuttle XPC Barebone SB83G5M."

But the interior of the Shuttle XPC Barebone SB83G5M knows how to draw the crowds as well. Based on the Intel i915G chipset with ICH6R, PCI-Express x16 slot for mighty graphics cards. Thanks to the normal PCI slot is barebone is ready to be equipped with a TV card. The heatpipe cooling system got a lot of praise from the reviewers as well: "Visibly more effective than alternative constructions," explain the editors.
