2005-05-20 - Xtreme Resources: "Xtreme Award!"
Why not try something different? Plug in up to three monitors for the pleasure of multiple display functionality with the Shuttle XPC Barebone ST20G5 that comes in a "spectacular design." But there was more the editors of Xtreme Resources praised while testing the Shuttle XPC Barebone ST20G5, such as the"very efficient ICE heat sink". On the whole, "fantastic engineering and design" accounted for their declaring the ST20G5 a "definite winner."
Xtreme Resources' latest Shuttle tested, the XPC Barebone ST20G5, made the editors feel like children opening presents on Christmas Day. First thing they were struck by was its beauty. With a brushed aluminium case it provides a "stunning yet and very professional look." Speaking of performance aspects, the Uli M1573 south bridge and the Realtek ALC880 codec performed as the editors never expected. The 8-channel audio was music to their ears and it created "a real wall of sound." Whenever the system is put to the maximum load, the ICE Heatpipe works "very efficiently" keeping the system quietly cool. A big plus for the lightweight performer is its easy assembly that was "just a piece of cake" making the system interesting for beginners as well. For these reasons the Shuttle XPC Barebone ST20G5 deserves the Xtreme Award: "It's definitely a keeper."
