2005-03-03 - PC INpact: "Bronze Award"
The editors of PC INpact, one of France's leading hardware web site, were the first to test the ST20G5, Shuttle's first barebone and the world's first SFF PC, based on the ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 chipset. Offered in Shuttle's G5 chassis, this newest barebone made a good impression from the start: "The G5 design is the most successful of Shuttle's entire product line."

Great looker and great performer then? But of course: "overall performance levels were excellent and the presence of an integrated video controller will tempt more than one user." Whether you use the onboard graphic or not, however, the system has plenty of growth built-in. Curious to see whether Shuttle's SilentX power supply of 240 Watts could handle a very full load, PC INpact's editors threw everything they could find at it: "We added a second SATA hard drive and a PCI WiFi card, and once again the [Shuttle XPC Barebone] ST20G5 was put through over an hour of Torture Test under Prime95 and 3DMark2005."
Conclusion:
The editors conclude with "The Shuttle XPC Barebone ST20G5 will once again help Shuttle keep its good reputation." All of which adds up to a PC INpact: Bronze Award for Shuttle's XPC Barebone ST20G5.
