2005-01-12 - K-Hardware: "Clever construction and impressive cooling"

The German IT-website "K-Hardware" was glad to review the first SFF-PC in BTX-design worldwide, the Shuttle XPC barebone SB86i. The editors were impressed with its "clever construction and impressive cooling," giving it a full 45 out of a possible 50 points.

"Congratulations to Shuttle for having the first barebone in BTX-format on the market," wrote the editors of K Hardware. "Even among manufacturers of desktop PC-systems, only a few offer BTX systems." And these  congratulations were justified: the "impressive cooling" contributes to "stable operation along with the kind of performance we expected." Even at full load the Shuttle XPC barebone SB86i ran "clearly quieter than competing  products." Yet the cooling and the low noise level weren't the only advantages of the Shuttle XPC barebone SB86i, as the editors also praised its "good workmanship" and "stable operation."
