2004-11-18 - PC Direkt: "Budget Award"

The German computer magazine PC Direkt reviewed the Shuttle XPC Barebone ST62K and gave it a : "Budget Award". It is an "allrounder", claimed the editors.

Computers are now able to record TV shows or play music or videos. They also have to look stylish and offer entertainment. "A boring desktop computer which feels like work can't fit in with the styled audio and video components in a living room", wrote the editors of the German computer magazine PC Direkt.

"The best fit for a living room PC is a barebone computer," said the editors. "The only barebone in our test is a little bit smaller than the normal XPC-cube, because the power supply is fanless and external. The motherboard supports powerful Intel P4 processors up to 3.2 GHz, and there is enough space for standard drives and a PCI expansion card."

Result

"Shuttles ST62K is the only barebone in the test and still an allrounder"

Result: good
