Everybody who has a junk car dreams of this moment: someone rings the bell and Rapper Xzibit is standing behind the door. He is the host of MTV’s “Pimp my ride,” collecting junk cars and bringing them to West Coast Customs (WCC), a famous garage and home to renowned tuning experts. Over 70 millions spectators have seen the show, and witnessed junk cars being changed into hardtops with new alloy wheels, big spoilers, paint effects, and big-sound entertainment systems. Nothing is impossible! (Only because they’ve never had to work on a Trabbi would be our guess however.)

What do the tuning pros do when they’re not remodeling cars? What computers do they use when planning out their next big project? Shuttle XPC Systems!

They have ordered 15 Shuttle XPC Systems – with Pentium 4 processors and Hyper-Threading Technology. Power and design take center stage – on cars and PCs. “Our old computers were a mess,” says Michael Megdal, President Marketing/PR for West Coast Customs. “We had an odd ball collection of handmade PCs mixed in with off-the-shelf systems. And many were more than five years old. Our goal in 2005 is to kick off the year with all-new PC technology throughout the shop. The new gear from Shuttle and Intel will help boost our general business operations but more important in the long run is it will give the team on the floor computer aided design resources at their fingertips.” With the black Shuttle XP17 TempAR TFTs and the Shuttle XPC Barebones SB83G5 equipped with an Intel Pentium 4 processors, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 PCI Express graphics card and 512 MB of memory, it isn’t just the bolides in the shop that are loaded with horsepower to spare.
