Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor X6800

The Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor family consists of five Desktop-Processors, which are optimised for Business, Home and high end gaming needs. Five new mobile processors enable manufacturers to build more powerful and less power consuming notebooks. Especially Intel® Core™2 Duo processors for workstations offer the required performance for demanding tasks such as DTP programs, computer animations and technical computing.

The new processor family is based on the Intel® Core™ architecture that was designed for extreme performance combined with low power consumption. These chips feature two cores and can easily handle multiple tasks at the same time. The users' benefit is an even higher performance when multiple programs are running at the same time. It is possible to write emails or surf the web, while having a virus scanner and larger downloads running in the background without a loss of performance. The Intel® Core™2 Duo processors even optimize high resolution videos and ease the security of your PC at e-Commerce transactions due to their high performance. Thanks to the low power consumption they save a lot of battery – so that even lighter and thinner notebook designs are possible.

The Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor is based on a completely new micro architecture and offers enormous performance and higher efficiency compared with the Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel® Pentium® D generations. A new and efficient architecture providing more performance per clock rate, 4 MB Cache, faster processing of SSE commands and intelligent power saving functions offer performance with surprisingly low power consumption. The flagship is the Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor X6800 with nearly 3 GHz clock rate providing previously not reached performance levels in the Desktop PC segment.
